There’s good news on the DACA front.
The Supreme Court has rejected a request from the Trump administration for an urgent ruling on a 9th Circuit Court injunction that has prevented the regime from ending the DACA program for DREAMers on March 5, 2018.
Instead the Supreme Court will now allow the 9th Circuit deliberative time to sort out whether or not the DACA program must end. I’m not sure what the legal appeal process is following the 9th Circuit’s ruling, but I do know that this ruling will buy more time to protest the administration’s decision to destroy DACA and urge our lawmakers to find a legislative fix for this issue.
Please take a moment to contact your Congressional representative and urge them to grant legal status to the DREAMers. The Congressional switchboard number is 202-224-3121, they can direct you to your representative. For those of you who are thinking, oh, I’m represented by a Democrat, no worries, this is the wrong attitude to take on this particular issue. Do not assume that the Democrats will hold the line on this issue. Extra pressure is urgently needed. The Democrats threw in the towel on a DREAMers deal earlier in the month. There is no reason to think this is a priority for them.
Trump and the racists who support him want to deport the DREAMers as soon as they can. It’s up to us to not let that happen. Call and protest today.
