Day 188: Reince Leakus

The great Scaramucci shakeup continues in a world where reality goes to die.

Despite the fact that he has a massive conflict of interest from an ownership stake in a venture capital firm, Scaramucci has not only managed to enter the White House but has somehow made it worse than it was before.

In a McCarthy style witch hunt for White House leakers (helpful hint: all of the occupants of that office leak to the press), he escalated an intraoffice feud with Reince Priebus to shocking new levels.

He accused Priebus of leaking his financial disclosure statement (which is publicly available) to the press and suggested that instead of (allegedly) directing reporters attention to publicly available documents, the White House staff should “honor the job” and act with the integrity of Joe Paterno.

Luckily for him, they already do. Like Paterno, they already cover up the misdeeds of a sexual predator. Like Paterno, they command an army of supporters who have engaged in a clinical case of systemically vagrant behavior. Like Paterno, they work with a staff at the institutional level who will completely twist logic to defend the indefensible.

It seems as though leaking, while being painted as a way out of a job at the White House, is the only way out for staffers within the Trump administration to reveal the insanity of the people in charge while maintaining their sanity as they communicate to reporters the workings which (if they have them) are tearing apart their souls.

They should’ve known what they were getting into. The country should have known better as well.
